Ice Storm
Hailing from a place with notoriously mild winters, I don't remember ever seeing this phenomenon in person before. Sooo...this is what a tree looks like when it's encased in ice. Actually it's quite pretty, besides the fact that it's interesting from a meteorological perspective. These are both from my yard.
It really is impressive. It was 71 here yesterday afternoon and 62 this morning when I got up. It's raining now, though and the high on Wednesday is supposed to be in the 30's, so I guess our little winter solstice is over.

We got hit with it too, in western NY. It is quite impressive to look at, as long as it's not making all your trees and power lines fall down.

I like looking at pictures of ice and stuff. But I'm glad I don't live where it freezes up like that! I really miss summer.
definitely great when it's not locking up traffic.
